About Us
The Quinte Arts Council is a not-for-profit community arts organization founded on the belief that the arts are for everyone and should be accessible to all. Our membership is comprised of more than 500 individuals, families and businesses, and more than 80 member groups (the groups jointly represent about 6,000 artists and art supporters).
The council was founded in 1967 and is based in Belleville, Ontario, but serves the entire Quinte region.
Vision Statement
The Quinte Arts Council is a registered charitable arts organization working to develop, integrate and promote a creative culture and artistic opportunities in our community. Our goal is to raise awareness for the value of creativity and artistic expression within our community through programs and services that engage and nurture artists.
Our mandate is to develop and provide: effective communication vehicles that build awareness within the community and that provide an advocacy forum for artists and arts organizations in our region; arts in education programs that bring artists into local schools to teach children the value of a creative lifestyle and to develop emerging artists; resources and services that nurture, strengthen and sustain local artists and arts organizations; programs that broaden the artistic experiences of our community and foster a thriving creative environment.

- Performing arts shows and workshops for students

- Arts Recognition Awards
- Event promotion (member events are promoted through the QAC to the media, major hotels in Quinte, and our members via weekly emails)
- Promotion of Quinte artists and cultural events
- Arts advocacy
- Artists Directory and referral service
- Free web page design and maintenance for member groups, businesses and artists
- Advocacy, assistance and financial support for the promotion of arts education and artists in the schools
