Town & Country Camera Club
Trenton, Ontario, Canada
-
The Town & Country Camera Club was formed prior to
1963.
At that time, the meetings were held in Glen Miller. Some of the
earlier presidents and members included Mr. A.G. Austin, James Page,
Drs.
Bishop, Farley and Richmond, W.W. Miller, his son Allen Miller and Les
Sharpe.
-
The Club is a member of CAPA (previously known as NAPA).
This
national organization has brought a high level of photography to
Canada.
CAPA has various competitions which are open to all camera club members
and individual members. The Trenton club has won the Pictorial,
Nature
and Theme competitions many times in the past. In recent years we
have held our own, and continue to strive for that first award.
-
The club meets at 7:30 p.m., the first Wednesday of each month,
at the
South Gallery in the Dufferin Centre in Trenton. Our meetings
feature varied photographic topics with interesting speakers. Our
program includes workshops. On these nights, the more experienced
photographers will assist the newer photographers and participate with
them on a project. Workshop nights are always fun!
-
Trips are arranged to various places around the
province.
There are seminars conducted by well-known photographers. Juried
exhibitions showing photographs by club members are arranged in
galleries
and stores in the area. Also, CAPA has week-long photography
adventures
for anyone who would like to attend. These are very beneficial.
