The Art Gallery of
Bancroft at 10 Flint Ave. presents its 20th Annual Student Art
Exhibition. High school students from four area schools have been
invited to participate. Awards of excellence will be presented in
the following categories: drawing, painting, 3-dimensional and new

Artist Mia Lane presents Charades, an examination of
our changing environment through surreal imagery with an in depth
look at the artist’s process, in the John M. Parrott Art Gallery,

pm. Andrea Graham is in Gallery 2, with her show Adaptations, an
exploration in felt of the mutation and adaptation of the natural

Lane) in Gallery 1, Gallery 2 hosts a display of felted works, both
two- and three-dimensional by Kingston artist, Andrea Graham.
Gallery 3, a rotating display of oil paintings by Manly MacDonald
from the permanent collection. Corridor Gallery plays host to an

The Heritage Centre
Art Gallery, 40 Victoria St. N., Tweed, presents their new visual
art exhibition, featuring the acrylic paintings of well-known
photographer Robert McIntosh; Carl Reed’s watercolour landscapes and
Barbara Bering’s brilliant floral acrylics. A show reception will

The 6th Annual
ARTEVĪNO is being held at the Crystal Palace in Picton on
June 19 (new date)
from noon to 4 p.m. We are looking for visual artists and art
groups who are members of either the Quinte Arts Council or the
Prince Edward County Arts Council to join us in a celebration of
regional arts, wine and food. A table and linen will be provided on
which to display your work. If you have your own booth please let
us know when responding to this call. There is no entry fee and 20%
of all work sold will be donated to support QAC and PECAC. Send

Ontario Fidelis
Alpha, a retired teachers’ chapter of Alpha Dleta Kappa an
international educators’ sorority, is now accepting applications for
the Orma Tipper Arts Award in Music and/or Drama. This award is
intended for persons of amateur status currently studying music
and/or drama either privately or within the elementary or secondary
school system. Groups may also apply. This award is designed to
recognize outstanding and worthy performers in these fields and to
promote and encourage further study in these areas. Teachers may
apply on behalf of their students. For information or an

The Quinte Arts
Council’s Arts Recognition Awards honour those who have made an
outstanding contribution to the arts in Quinte. The purpose of this
award is to acknowledge individuals, companies or organizations that
have made a contribution to arts and culture in our community.
Winners will receive a hand-crafted award by a local artist. Tell
us the name of the person, company or organization that you wish to
nominate and let us know why you are making the nomination in about
250 words or less. You will need to get two other people to write a
brief letter of support to accompany your nomination. Nomination

The volunteer Board
of the Bancroft Village Playhouse welcomes expressions of interest
leading to proposals for summer theatre operation beginning in
2011. This venue has enjoyed an established summer theatre program
since 1992. A major renovation was completed in 1995. To learn
more about the facility, visit

theatre are working with the Board to secure a successor
organization to carry on the tradition for the 2011-2014 period.
Assets available include summer patron mailing list, box office
system, sets, costumes, café furnishings, etc. The Playhouse itself
has adequate lighting equipment, operated via a modern digital

Retrospective, a wonderful opportunity to revisit the rare talent of
the late Alf Blything, including many pieces from
private collections.
Alf was an inspired and
prolific artist, constantly amazing us with his intricate and
detailed work and his wry sense of humour. New works by the other
gallery artists are shown in the 2nd and 3rd galleries.
