![]() Arts Education Special Spring Support Program for the Performing, Literary and Visual Arts
The Quinte Arts Council’s Special Spring Support Program was established by the council’s Arts and Education Committee in 2003 to be used to help subsidize arts programming in Quinte schools.
This award will be made to a school or schools, for the purpose of bringing professional artists into classrooms (Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) for a period of not less than three half days or the equivalent, with the same group of students, to produce a unique ARTS project related to the curriculum.

Eligible projects will meet the following criteria:
-involve a professional artist or group, working directly with students to accomplish a completed project which will be displayed or performed to the public. (suggested artist daily rate $200 - $250) -involve visual arts activities, (painting, sculpture, pottery, photography, mixed media, 3-D sculptures), performing arts activities (drama, musical composition and performance, dance) or literary arts activities (poetry, short story, classics). -support the Ontario curriculum and illustrate a theme in one area of: Guidance; Social Studies; Science and Technology; Language Arts, Music, Drama, and Visual Arts -have defined starting and completion dates, set objectives, a project budget and a follow-up plan for evaluations and a report -involve a school (or schools) or classroom(s) of students within the Quinte region, grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
The applicant must be a school/classroom in the Quinte region that is a member of the QAC or whose board is a member of the QAC. Activities must involve an interactive experience between the students and the artist(s).
