I am essentially self-taught, with help
of a few classes and tudorships. I have sketched and drawn since
childhood. Architectural studies at Ryerson took me from pencil and pen &
ink to watercolour rendering. From there I ventured into oils and, with
just a few acrylic exceptions, I have been striving to continuously
improve in that medium.
I am a native Brockvillian. My wife,
Betty, and I moved to Belleville from Toronto in January 2007. I am
a past member of The Willowdale Group of Artists.
I tend towards landscapes, but often I
create cityscapes and rural/cottage scenes that attract me due to my
architectural bent and because of receiving commissions to do so.
Additionally, I have created several acrylic wall murals. Much of my work
has been realistic in nature by necessity but I am venturing into some
impressionistic works at present because I find that style more creative,
subjective and more in demand. |
