Journey to the Summit, 30" x 30", acrylic and oil on canvas, 2010

Born and raised in Prince Edward County, Brittany Shannon took a year after graduating high school to see the cathedrals and modern art of Europe. Stimulated by Europe’s beauty, Brittany enrolled at the University of Ottawa to study art and art history. After graduating with a B.F.A., Brittany sought to diversify her abilities in painting and drawing by learning about clay and metal sculpture from the Kootenay School of Arts in Nelson, British Columbia. Inspired by the thriving arts community of Nelson, Brittany returned to Prince Edward County to help promote arts education and enrich others’ lives with the freedom of self-expression through art. As an emerging artist, Brittany is currently spending most of her time working in her at-home studio, experimenting to develop her body of work and remaining soulfully engaged in her creative journey.
