Back a few years ago Rick Bauer ordered
some balloons to decorate for a party he was having. The balloon company
sent the wrong balloons. Instead of the usual party favorites they sent
along four bags of the long skinny balloons usually used by clowns and
magicians to make balloon animals for children. The balloon company
rectified the error. They sent the right balloons for the party, and very
kindly offered Rick the balloons they had sent in error.
He left them in his closet for a few weeks
until curiosity finally got the best of him. Rick tried to figure out a
few basic designs. They were very hard to blow up, but once he got the
hang of that he discovered he quite enjoyed this new-found craft. He
started performing as RICCO, THE BALLOON GUY.
Rick went out and bought as many different
kinds, shapes and sizes of balloons as he could find. He began to
experiment with multiple-balloon design which he affectionately calls
“balloon sculptures”.
RICCO THE BALLOON GUY provides a great
addition to any festive event. He loves to “work the crowd” but is equally
at home on the performance stage where he can provide a surprisingly
delightful and varied program (15-30 minutes) of balloon related stunts,
gags and audience participation. A good time will be had by all.
