When I was a little girl in preschool, art was always my favourite subject. I painted until my hands cramped and my veins surged with watercolour.

The passion continued as I experimented with many mediums over the years, including Chinese ink, oil pastel and photography, which blossomed for me during my student exchange to Switzerland. Acrylic, I have found, most accommodates my need for the flow of emotion from my heart, through the brush, and onto the canvas.

Much of my work is inspired by the music of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult and Fleetwood Mac, among others. Music can create a feeling on which to base a piece. Each song has its own mood and style. The “mood” of the painting is the difference between an edgy, dark piece and a warm, welcoming scene.

Some of my work is inspired by love, political ideas, science, literature, imagination and perspectives on daily life. When I feel strongly about something, I paint it. My strategy is to take an emotion and make a visual representation of the feeling.

Thank you very much for taking an interest in my work!
