Pat Kammer (613)968-6157
Since retiring from my usual line of work as a holistic health practitioner in June 2002, I have been indulging my passion as an artist, by sculpting clay jewelry. This creative part of me has been denied for over 13 years. As many may know, I was once a florist in my own business for over 15 years. It was a very successful time but very draining too. The art medium I now play with is a low heat cured type of clay. The clay doesn't have to be painted and comes in a full spectrum of colours. Pearl-ex powder is sometimes used to achieve the iridescent looks. My jewelry has mainly been pendants and have taken an out-of-the-box look - using images of spiritual beings that seem to take on their own personality. I recycle materials for embellishing my pieces that are cast-off jewelry, beads, material and wool, all to enhance my art form. Over the years I have taken art courses by some of Belleville's best in the art world. I enjoyed working in paint and canvas but clay is the most enjoyable medium I have worked in. My pieces can be viewed on my website or in my home by appointment. For more information about Pat and her work see her website at www.patkammer.com.
