I was born and raised in the
Brighton area. As a child I spent hours playing on the shores of
Lake Ontario, intrigued by the waves and clouds on the horizon.
Drawing and painting has been a part of my life for as long as I can
remember. On my ninth birthday I received a gift of an oil paint set
from a family friend and I soon became captivated with putting oil
to canvas. Unfortunately, art lessons were not available to me.
Through the years I have studied, experimented and persevered on my
own. On occasion I have made use of and gained valuable input from a
few interest courses that were being offered. Although I have tried
different mediums, oil continues to be my favorite to work with.
Today our home is again on
the shores of Lake Ontario, this time in South Marysburgh. It was
only natural that the spectacular skies over the water would become
the inspiration behind my recent paintings. I am continually
attempting to capture on canvas the dramatic beauty of motion and
colour that is displayed every day out over the lake.
Some of my paintings are
currently on display at SideStreet Gallery in Wellington, Ontario. |
