Cherry Valley Art School is a group of area artists who are interested in promoting arts education to children through the use of workshops and fun programming.  The Kids' Summer Arts Programs 2005 is a week of fun-filled one-day workshops featuring the creative minds of local artists.  The July 18 to 22 workshops include: Wordplay, What's Cooking?, Arts Experience, Newspaper Camp and Photography.  Artists/Instructors are: Artist/Designer Gudrun Gallo, Food Expert/Teacher Suzanne White, National Post Photographer Peter Redman and Journalist/Author Laura Salverda.  Workshops are at the Athol Community Hall in the heart of Cherry Valley on County Rd. 10.

Plans are already in the works for next year when they will have the use of an open air classroom when the pavilion construction at the Athol Town Hall is complete.  The Cherry Valley Art School is a non-profit venture sponsored by the Athol Recreation Committee and a portion of all proceeds will return to the Athol community.  Local artists are welcome to apply to participate in the 2006 six-week summer arts camp program (contact Laura, see above).
