Marc "Budgie"
Bourdon brings an educational and work background in advertising and
graphic design, together with a long-time passion for carving and
sculpting. The combination has resulted in a very unique and
definitive style.
Marc
presently works at Campbellšs Monument in Belleville, an
employee-owned company, where his skills are put to good use.
Whenever the opportunity arises he spends time blowing glass at
Bloomfield Glassworks, and incorporates the glass work with his
sculpture. The combination of the different mediums is very
intriguing.
In 2005, Marc
was the feature artist at the Festival of Trees and in 2006 was
chosen for the prestigious Emerging Sculptors Exhibition held by the
Canadian Sculptors Society.

Artist's Statement:
I have been
creating sculptures since I can remember and have always enjoyed
working with my hands. I enjoy making forms rather than details
because I like how it can be interpreted differently by different
people. I prefer to work in stone and glass because it is so
permanent. Creating art relaxes me; I am a Graphic Designer by trade
and sculpting is a welcome contrast.
Materials I
like to use: Granite, Limestone, Marble, blown and fused glass.
Style: Modern
Currently several of my pieces are on display
at Covent Garden Art Gallery in Wellington. (www.coventgarden.ca\marc\marc.htm)
